The British luxury phonemaker is taking pre-orders for a wood-backed version of its AI-powered flagship, with curved walnut engineered using steam-bending and precision machining.
Vertu has opened priority pre-sale reservations for the Agent Q Solid Walnut Edition, a natural-wood variant of its AI-powered flagship smartphone that launched at Harrods London in October 2025. The company is asking collectors to submit a US$2,000 deposit to secure an allocation from the limited production run, with final pricing and delivery dates to be discussed privately with a Vertu advisor.
The Walnut Edition represents Vertu’s expansion into engineered botanical materials, described by the company as its most ambitious material engineering achievement to date. Each device is unique, bearing the distinctive grain patterns and color variations inherent to hand-selected walnut wood. Vertu’s craftspeople have combined traditional steam bending, CNC machining, and multi-stage finishing to achieve this, a technique the company describes as never before attempted in smartphone manufacturing.
The Agent Q Experience
The Walnut Edition delivers the full Agent Q feature set, which positions the phone around autonomous AI agents rather than traditional apps. Users can speak naturally to the device—pressing the Ruby Talk button and saying, for example, “Book my trip to Tokyo, same preferences as last time”—and the phone orchestrates the necessary steps across multiple services. Vertu says over 200 specialized AI agents run proactively on behalf of the user, handling everything from meeting coordination to travel management.
The phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Supreme processor paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB storage. Its 5,565mAh battery supports 65W fast charging. The 6.02-inch AMOLED display refreshes at 120Hz.
