Lexus is expanding its luxury yacht business beyond Japan with the international launch of the LY680, which goes on sale in global markets this month. The 68-foot yacht will make its international debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 28–November 1, 2026), marking the brand’s next step in what it calls 360-degree mobility.

The move represents a significant milestone in Lexus’s transformation from automotive maker to lifestyle brand. The LY680 was first announced in 2024 and launched domestically that same year; it made its world debut in March 2026. The yacht programme itself builds on a concept first unveiled in January 2017, when Toyota Marine and Lexus introduced the Lexus Sport Yacht Concept as part of the parent company’s broader pivot from car manufacturer to mobility provider.

Evolution from the LY650

The new model stretches approximately 68 feet end-to-end, with a flybridge extended roughly 1,400 millimetres beyond the earlier design and a swimming platform enlarged by 700 millimetres. The yacht sleeps up to six guests across three cabins.

The brand emphasizes careful craftsmanship throughout, and according to the announcement, the yacht delivers stable handling combined with exceptional ride comfort and quietness at sea. The vessel is equipped with Volvo Penta IPS 1350/1050×2 units for propulsion.

Partnership with Horizon Group

Lexus did not develop the yacht in-house. Instead, the brand partnered with Horizon Group, described in the announcement as one of Asia’s leading luxury yacht builders, known for custom construction and technical capabilities. Under the collaboration, Lexus took responsibility for design and the overall customer experience, while Horizon Group provided the craftsmanship and production expertise accumulated through years of large-yacht building.

The partnership drew on production methods adapted from the Toyota Production System, combining Lexus’s design vision with Horizon’s marine engineering knowledge. John Lu, chief executive of Horizon Group, stated:
