Daher cuts emissions 15% in three years through energy and fuel initiatives
The aerospace and logistics company has embedded climate action into daily operations, reducing fossil fuel use by 16% and shifting to renewable energy and sustainable aviation fuel.

Daher has cut greenhouse gas emissions from its operations by 15% over three years, according to Julie de Cevins, the company’s Chief Sustainability Officer.
The company’s strategy weaves climate considerations into everyday decisions, improves energy efficiency across facilities, and transitions transportation to lower-carbon fuels. De Cevins emphasized that lasting progress depends on organizational engagement rather than isolated initiatives. “Climate considerations are progressively being embedded in operational decisions, transportation choices and investment priorities,” she said in an interview published by Daher.
Building employee momentum
Daher launched two learning programs to align staff with decarbonization goals. Climate Basics provides foundational knowledge of climate science and emissions measurement; Climate by Daher connects that knowledge to the company’s specific challenges and the actions employees can take. Since November 2025, more than 2,000 employees have completed Climate Basics, with the second program launching in June 2026.
De Cevins framed the training as behavior change rather than compliance. “Climate awareness is not a compliance exercise; it is the starting point for changing behaviors and making climate performance part of everyday decision-making,” she said.

Energy and resource efficiency
Energy efficiency has emerged as the fastest way to reduce emissions. Daher’s “Sprint Sobriété” initiative encourages sites to identify, deploy and share practical solutions across the Group. Teams examine building heating schedules, equipment usage, and energy loss prevention.
Since 2022, the company has reduced total fossil energy consumption by 16% while increasing renewable energy’s share in its mix from 5% to 36%. De Cevins noted that energy-saving measures represent approximately €1 million in estimated annual savings based on 2025 energy prices, demonstrating that environmental gains can align with operational efficiency.
Transportation decarbonization
Transportation sits at the heart of Daher’s operations and its customers’ value chains. About 20% of the trucks transporting the company’s products and components now run on biofuels. Sustainable Aviation Fuel accounts for approximately 17% of fuel used in Daher’s aircraft operations.
De Cevins described the approach as pragmatic: deploy available solutions, measure their impact and prepare for emerging technologies. Fleet electrification and more efficient operating practices complement the fuel transitions. The same principle extends to material and waste management, where the company aims to use resources more intelligently and extend their value.
Next phase
Daher intends to accelerate execution and embed sustainability deeper into investment, innovation and customer relationships. De Cevins framed the next priority as making climate performance systematic across major business decisions rather than multiplying separate programs. The company’s dual ambition is to continue reducing its own footprint while helping customers advance their decarbonization journeys.
