Waldorf Astoria and Conrad shift to all-inclusive in Riviera Maya
Hilton is converting two luxury beachfront resorts on Mexico's Caribbean coast to all-inclusive models, with the Waldorf Astoria becoming adults-only from January and Conrad adding a dedicated adults section.

Hilton announced today that its Waldorf Astoria and Conrad properties in Riviera Maya are shifting to all-inclusive resort models. The two properties on Mexico’s Caribbean coast will operate under distinct concepts shaped by their respective brand identities, reflecting what Hilton calls the evolution of luxury all-inclusive travel. From January 10, 2027, the Waldorf Astoria will operate exclusively for adult guests aged 18 and over, while Conrad Tulum will maintain a multi-generational offering alongside a reserved Ceiba Club section for adults only.
The Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya positions itself around oceanfront privacy and personalized service for an adults audience. Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will continue to welcome families while offering the Ceiba Club as an alternative for adults seeking that experience.
Personalization as the organizing principle
At Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya, a dedicated Personal Concierge will orchestrate each guest’s stay, learning preferences and arranging dining reservations, wellness services, transportation and excursions before arrival and throughout the visit. The resort’s curated experience framework organizes activities around five themes: Restore, Discover, Indulge, Gather and Celebrate. Guests booking four consecutive nights or longer may select one resort experience or destination excursion per stay.
Daily inclusions span 24-hour in-room dining, a refreshed minibar, arrival amenities and complimentary transportation from Cancun International Airport for those making direct bookings. Mornings may include oceanfront yoga or Mayan breathwork; afternoons bring offerings such as heritage textile workshops, agave craftsmanship classes or margarita mixology; evenings feature live music and rum tastings.

Culinary moments rooted in modern Mexico
Dining across Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya’s venues centers on regional artistry. Malpeque offers live-fire culinary theater, Mexican cheese service, tableside carving and salt tastings. Chaya presents seasonal paletas and a Mexican dessert cart. JA’O features agave discovery experiences and ancestral tortilla preparation. Peacock Alley serves signature breakfast and afternoon tea. BonbonOm, opening soon, celebrates Mexican coffee through tastings and masterclasses. Select Mesa Abierta evenings will bring chef-led dining experiences rooted in local ingredients and the resort’s oceanfront setting.
Conrad’s approach to multi-generational discovery
Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya sits on a secluded stretch of coastline where vegetation meets the Caribbean, and will operate as a multi-generational all-inclusive retreat centered on discovery, restoration and connection. The resort’s culinary program and guest experiences will draw on what Hilton describes as the spirit and soul of Tulum itself.

Existing reservations and the transition
Hilton said it will honor existing reservations at Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya according to their original terms, with one exception: bookings that include guests under 18 and are scheduled to arrive on or after January 10, 2027 will require rebooking. The resort will work with affected guests to arrange alternative accommodation and provide assistance throughout the process.
Sylvia Scholey, Hilton’s vice president and global head of all-inclusive and resorts, said the shift reflects how affluent travelers now define luxury. “Today’s travelers want the freedom and ease of an all-inclusive resort, paired with the distinctive depth, personalization and sense of place they expect from Hilton’s award-winning luxury brands,” she said in the announcement.
