Flexjet Takes First Embraer Praetor 600E With Smart Window Technology
The fractional-ownership operator received the first delivery of Embraer's super-midsize jet, equipped with a 42-inch touchscreen that reimagines the cabin as a boardroom or entertainment hub.

Flexjet took delivery of the first Embraer Praetor 600E on September 18, marking the debut of the manufacturer’s latest super-midsize jet and the world’s first certified aircraft with fully operational Smart Window technology. The fractional-ownership operator, which has been a launch customer for Embraer’s most significant models since 2003, expects 12 of the aircraft by year’s end.
The Smart Window is a 42-inch 4K OLED touchscreen curved to match the aircraft’s sidewall contour. It can display real-time high-definition views of the exterior, transform into a collaborative workspace for meetings and video calls, or become an entertainment hub for gaming and film. The system is paired with Starlink Wi-Fi and studio-grade audio, and passengers can view night skies from lie-flat seats.
The broader aircraft order
This delivery is part of a landmark $7 billion agreement between Flexjet and Embraer announced in February 2025. The accord covers a firm order for 182 aircraft across three models—light, midsize and super-midsize variants—plus options for an additional 30 jets and expanded services. Flexjet expects deliveries of the Praetor 500E midsize variant to begin later in 2026, with Phenom 300E light jets already entering the fleet.

Cabin and performance upgrades
Beyond the Smart Window, both the Praetor 600E super-midsize and Praetor 500E midsize models feature expanded headroom above each seating position and electric-assisted seat controls that nest into a lie-flat configuration. The Omni-Fi speaker system with NICE4K audio, along with lighting, climate and music controls managed through voice command or a touchscreen interface, complete the cabin systems. A live visual tracker on the upper tech panel displays time to destination.
Embraer characterizes the Praetor 600E as offering exceptional range in the super-midsize category. The Praetor 500E is positioned as delivering speed and range capability alongside cabin comfort in the midsize segment.
A long partnership
Flexjet has introduced Embraer’s newest designs to market across two decades, beginning with the Legacy Executive in 2003 and continuing through the Phenom 300 in 2010, the Legacy 450 in 2016, and both the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 in 2019. The operator marked milestones including the 100th Phenom 300 delivery in 2012 and received the 1,000th Embraer business jet ever built—a Legacy 500—in 2016, according to the company. The Phenom 300 has maintained its position as the world’s most-delivered light business jet for 14 consecutive years.
Michael Silvestro, Flexjet’s chief executive, said the operator’s customer base has been trending younger and expects them to regard the cabin as central to the flight experience. “The Smart Window will be integral in enhancing the enjoyment of the in-cabin journey,” he said, characterizing it as an expression of the company’s commitment to next-generation luxury aviation.
